Not! Dream crushed.
We've been thinking about where we might want to live after school since accounting firms let you pick which office you want to go to. Jeshua started to fantasize this week about moving to the San Juan Puerto Rico office. We'd live minutes from the beach, have 80 degree weather year round, swim and snorkel everyday. Sip crazy fruit drinks out of a coconut. Catch tropical fish with our bare hands. All our relatives would want to come stay with us.
Jeshua had been to St Thomas for a few weeks before his mission and fell in love (there's no snorkeling in Utah!!). These are both pictures from that trip.
The process went like this.
Monday - Jeshua gets really excited about going to Puerto Rico.
Tuesday-He tells Julia and now we're both excited.
Wednesday - We actually look into different factors that play into moving there. Higher crime. Everyone speaks Spanish. Far from America. Far from families, expensive plane ticket. Average salary $17,000/year. No temple.
Thursday - Still considering it, but not as excited.
Friday - Not really considering it.
Saturday - GI Joe (see other post)
Sunday - Dream dead. Time of death 8:44 pm.
We were on the fence about most factors, but we went to the temple on Saturday and afterwards decided that we really want that to be a regular part of our lives. If we get to choose, we feel we should be closer to a temple. The nearest to Puerto Rico is the Dominican Republic (a $200 round trip ticket). So in a short week, we went from never having considered it, to halfway there, to over it.
