We're moving to the islands!!!

Not! Dream crushed.

We've been thinking about where we might want to live after school since accounting firms let you pick which office you want to go to. Jeshua started to fantasize this week about moving to the San Juan Puerto Rico office. We'd live minutes from the beach, have 80 degree weather year round, swim and snorkel everyday. Sip crazy fruit drinks out of a coconut. Catch tropical fish with our bare hands. All our relatives would want to come stay with us.

Jeshua had been to St Thomas for a few weeks before his mission and fell in love (there's no snorkeling in Utah!!). These are both pictures from that trip.
The process went like this.
Monday - Jeshua gets really excited about going to Puerto Rico.
Tuesday-He tells Julia and now we're both excited.
Wednesday - We actually look into different factors that play into moving there. Higher crime. Everyone speaks Spanish. Far from America. Far from families, expensive plane ticket. Average salary $17,000/year. No temple.
Thursday - Still considering it, but not as excited.
Friday - Not really considering it.
Saturday - GI Joe (see other post)
Sunday - Dream dead. Time of death 8:44 pm.
We were on the fence about most factors, but we went to the temple on Saturday and afterwards decided that we really want that to be a regular part of our lives. If we get to choose, we feel we should be closer to a temple. The nearest to Puerto Rico is the Dominican Republic (a $200 round trip ticket). So in a short week, we went from never having considered it, to halfway there, to over it.

G.I. Joe REAL AMERICAN HERO!!

GI JOE WAS AMAZING!!!! Ok, not really. But it was hilarious, probably not in the way the film makers intended. Julia, James, Brenda, Jeshua, and Sophia all went to see it Sat. night. The one-liners were ridiculous "Now I'm truly following in the path of my predecessors!! What have you done to me?!?"
It was a funny night, and definitely worth a dollar each. We recommend it to everyone who can laugh at a silly movie with some cheesy lines.

Paintball

James had a good idea for us to get up EARLY on a Saturday to go paint balling. We rented equipment and drove out to a field that was netted and full of barrels. We were all amateurs and could barley hit each other unless we were within 10 feet which Jeshua did several times. At one point, Jeshua shot Daniel in vulnerable areas half a dozen times as he lay defenseless on the ground. And now James is getting a restraining order against Jeshua for shooting his wife at close range. Everyone left with bruises and covered in greasy, slimy, paint. Near the end, a group of pros came and showed us how it's done. They wore protective suits, had super high powered automatic weapons, and communicated with code names and real-war strategies.

Temple Day

To celebrate Julia's birthday, we went with James, Brenda, Brenda's mom and our cousin Daniel to the Provo Temple. Daniel was late and so we decided to take some pictures with Julia's new camera (which she got for her birthday!). It took Jeshua six tries to get a photo with a bee in it because they kept flying away.
It was very special to be in the temple with James and Brenda since the last time we were there with them it was their sealing. We always feel so much peace when we are inside the temple. It reminds us that if we are faithful we can be with our families for eternity. Being in the temple helps us prioritize our busy lives and focus on what's really important-the people around us.
Afterwards, we went out to Chili's! Daniel was acting like a total clown and embarrassed us all. JUST KIDDING! He had the waitress bring him every flavor of fruit drinks they had for him to sample and he didn't even like any of them. It was a great night with family.

Our first blog

This is our first blog ever. We have decided as a family to begin blogging for two reasons. One, to keep in touch with family and friends scattered all over the country, and two, share our beliefs with others on what has brought us true happiness in our lives. Enjoy!
